Inventory Settings (FEFO, Loose Sales & Expiry Alerts)

On this page

When to use this: Use this guide to control how batches are picked at billing, whether loose/strip sales are allowed, whether billing can go below zero stock, and when expiry alerts fire. Every field here saves the moment you change it — there is no separate Save step.

Opening Inventory Settings

  1. Click Settings (gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar).
  2. Select Inventory.

Inventory

  • FEFO Auto-Select: Automatically picks the batch expiring soonest (First-Expiry-First-Out) when billing, instead of the cashier choosing a batch manually.
  • Allow Loose Sales: Lets a cashier sell individual units (e.g. single tablets from a strip) instead of only whole packs.
  • Allow Negative Stock: Lets a cashier bill an item even when its recorded stock is at zero.
  • Expiry Alert Days: How many days before a batch expires BitMed starts warning you about it (e.g. 90 alerts 90 days ahead).

Each row carries a This store badge — a store-level override on top of your org default. Click Use org default next to any row to drop the override and fall back to the org-wide setting.
