Stock Valuation report

Steps

1. Open Reports → Stock Valuation. Click Reports in the left menu, then click Stock Valuation from the list.

   

2. Check which moment you are looking at (2). The As on control names the date the figures describe, and the text beside it names the moment inside that day:

   • As of 28/09/2026 17:24 — a live read, the instant the page loaded.
   • As on 28/09/2026 (as at 17:24) — today, chosen deliberately.
   • As on 14/08/2026 (close of day) — a past date, valued at the end of that day.

   So this is not only a "right now" report: pick a past date to value stock as it stood at the close of that day, which is what an accountant usually wants. The time is always shown on the Indian clock, whatever zone the terminal is set to.

3. Know what is counted (3). The chip reads Page 1 · 33 of 33 with stock on hand — the report covers the products that are holding stock, not your whole catalogue. A product you range but have run out of does not appear here.

4. Read the table. One row per product: Category, Qty in stock, Avg MRP, Stock Value at MRP, Avg Cost, Stock Value at Cost, and number of Batches. A PAGE TOTAL row adds up the page you're on.

   The two pairs are the point of the report:

   • 6 — Avg MRP and Stock Value (MRP): what the stock would sell for. This is the figure to quote for insurance.
   • 7 — Avg Cost and Stock Value (Cost): what you paid for it. This is the figure that belongs in the accounts.

   They differ by your margin, so a large gap between the two totals is normal, not an error.

5. Watch it update. On a live read this values your current stock, so it refreshes automatically a moment after any sale, purchase, or stock adjustment — no need to reopen the page.

6. Page through it (4). Use the page-size dropdown and the arrow buttons at the top right.

7. Export (5). Use Export CSV, Export Excel or Export PDF — the export always covers every product, not just the page on screen.

8. Refresh (4) any time you want to force a reload.
