When to use this guide: To print receipts after checkout, reprint older invoices, and set up your printer settings properly.
Printing a Receipt After Checkout
-
When you finalize a bill (F10), the receipt preview screen displays your pharmacy header, drug license numbers, GSTIN, item details, batch numbers, expiry dates, and tax breakdown.
In the picture above, 1 is your shop header and address, 2 the GSTIN and both DL numbers, 3 each item with its batch, expiry, HSN and GST rate on the line beneath it, 4 the tax breakdown down to the round-off, and 5 the Print button.
-
The receipt is laid out for whichever paper size your store is set to — 80 mm, 50 mm or A4 — and sent to that printer. See receipts and printing to change it.
2 Ways to Reprint a Bill
Option 1: Reprint the Very Last Bill (Express Shortcut)
Press F6 anywhere on the billing screen. BitMed immediately reloads and prints the most recent bill generated on your terminal.
Option 2: Reprint Older Bills from Sales
- Open Sales in the left menu.
- Search for the bill by Bill Number, Customer Name, Mobile Number, or Date.
- Click to open the bill detail and select Print Receipt.
A reprint is clearly marked as one. In the picture above, 1 is the window title —
Duplicate Receipt, not "Receipt" — and 2 is the *** DUPLICATE *** line printed at the
top of the paper itself. 3 shows the invoice number is unchanged: a reprint is the same bill,
not a new one. 4 prints it.
1-Minute Printer Setup Guide
To make thermal receipts print clearly without unwanted blank margins:
- In the browser print dialog:
- Printer: Select your thermal receipt printer.
- Margins: Set to None.
- Scale: Set to 100% (Actual size).
- Paper Size: Select your roll size. Printer drivers usually call the narrow roll 58mm, which is the same roll BitMed calls 50 mm.
In the picture above, 1 is the Destination — pick your receipt printer, not a PDF or document app. 2 is Paper size and 3 is Margins, both under More settings, which is collapsed until you click it. 4 prints.
The dialog in this picture is still on its defaults — destination OneNote, paper Letter, margins Default — which is exactly what produces a receipt with large blank borders. Change those three before you print the first time; the browser remembers them afterwards.
